    Bryce Hamer Director and Physiotherapist

Bryce graduated with his Diploma in Physiotherapy in 1980. A born and raised country boy, Bryce moved from the family farm to complete his studies at the University of Otago, prior to moving to Hastings where Bryce had his first private practice position. Whilst Bryce was in Hastings he also worked as the physiotherapist for the Hawkes Bay Rugby Team.

Bryce was then bitten by the travel bug and he visited the USA, Canada, Europe, Israel, Egypt, Kenya and India, funding his travels by also working in the UK.

Upon returning to New Zealand Bryce worked one more season for the Hawkes Bay Rugby Team prior to moving to Tauranga with his wife Sharon, to establish his first Tauranga clinic- Devonport Road Physiotherapy Clinic. The Practice was moved to ProMed House in 1990 becoming Bay Physiotherapy Centre.

Bryce feels “remaining positive and keeping things in perspective” is very important and says he is very fortunate to have a profession he loves and live in beautiful Tauranga, his place of choice. Bryce currently is enjoying a mix of clinical and management roles in the practice, including working with physiotherapy students in their clinical training and developing new areas of patient services as the clinic expands and enjoys being involved with school activities and the students, but keep that balance required to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Bryce is actively involved in watching and supporting his children in their endeavours and participates in Tennis, Golf, and “keeping himself fit”.
